Odoo/OpenERP is how to deal with or manage users. Managing users and assigning groups or role is the key point in every business. In Odoo Activate and deactivate actions can be performed by Administrators. In Odoo/OpenERP assigning role or group to the single user is made through Administrator. And it’s not a good practice to do so using login through admin and do some setting stuff like assigning groups to employee or users. Add a New User in Odoo:

Now Go to the Settings module > select the User & Companies > click on users > click on create button.

 

 

Now you can add the name of the new user and the professional email address.  This email address will be used as the login email address of the user, once the user is successfully created.  At that time a new user is logged into Odoo instance with the help of this credentials.  Here there is an option to add a picture is also provided.

At this time you can describe the user access rights of the new user.
Under Access Rights, there is an option to choose which applications your user can access and use. Different levels of rights are available depending on the app.

In this page, the main user can perform all the editing about the new user.  Although you’re done editing the page and have clicked on SAVE button. To send an Invitation Link open screen of the user and click on Send an Invitation Email button. The new user must click on it to accept and go to this link on the invitation and create a log-in with credentials. An email will be sent to the email address which you provided while creating a new user.

Note: Before sending invitation mail to the user you make sure outgoing mail server is properly configured in your odoo

 

 

It is an alternate way of adding a new user from the dashboard of the main user.
You can invite new users in the dashboard, here add the email address of the new user and click on the invite button. When you sent the invite the new user will get an email which will have a link. The new user follows this link and set his password.

 

Deactivating Users:

In your Odoo instance, click on the Settings button. Now you will have a section showing the users using your database. At that time click on Manage access rights button

At that time you can see the users using your database.

 

Now choose the user you want to deactivate in the list of users. When the user is selected and the user form occurs. Now click on the status Active (top right).  When you clicked it will show inactive status.  At that time the individual user is deactivated. 

The user is now deactivated.
